Brigid Kennedy is the owner and hands on manager of Simmer Events and Catering and leads an inspired and talented Sydney catering and events team. Prior to setting up Simmer in 1997, Brigid owned & operated the successful Simmer Café in Potts Point and has trained at Cordon Bleu in London and La Varenne in Paris.

The inspired team at Simmer Catering and Events is led by renowned chef and author, Brigid Kennedy.
Brigid received her training at the celebrated institutes Cordon Bleu in London and La Varenne in Paris.  She owned and operated a catering business in London before her creative combinations and delicious delicacies saw her cruising the Caribbean and Mediterranean as personal chef to the rich and famous.

Prior to setting up Simmer in 1997, Brigid also owned & operated the successful Simmer Café in Potts Point for 3 years .

As the author of best selling titles Small Food and All Fired Up, Brigid provides inspiration for all budding hosts and hostesses from novices to connoisseurs. She is often invited to teach at various cooking schools, both nationally at Accoutrement, and internationally at The Epicurean School (NZ) and Cordon Bleu (UK). In further recognition of her talent, Freedom have invited Brigid to revamp the menus of their recently acquired Bay Swiss Cafes.

Brigid has an unparalleled flair for creating memorable events lifted above and beyond the ordinary with simmering flavours and exquisite personal service and enthuses the Simmer team to deliver the very best occasions that Sydney has to offer.

Teresa Gibson - Head Chef

Simmer Catering is renowned for making food a feast for the eye and the palate and Teresa plays an integral role in enhancing that reputation. She has been cooking since high school and made an early decision that her love of creating enticing flavours would become a career.

Since completing her apprenticeship, Teresa has captivated diners in Sydney and in the UK at The Bathers Pavilion, Armstrongs, Cicada, Long Grain and Favela before joining Brigid and the Simmer team. “I love food! It’s all about being able to be creative and the customer satisfaction that flows from there – the feedback we receive is incredibly rewarding”.
